Ever since I went off the pill two years ago, I still don't have regular and normal periods. My hubby and I know this can happen when you've been on pill for a long time, but how can I tell if I am fertile and ovulating regularly etc. Is there a product on the market that tells me, I don't want to have to go through tests and doctors poking around etc.
Thanks for your help, we really want a bubby!

You can use OPK tests (ovulation prediction kits) they are like pregnancy tests but they come up positive when you are fertile , and you can buy them at walmart. If you have the money to spend, you can get the ClearBlue easy Fertlity Monitor (around 200$) at any pharmacy. You can also use fertilityfriend.com to enter your BBT and they will tell you when you ovulate every month!

I went off the pill and I never got pregnant.
My period didn't regulate, and i've ended right back on the pill. I couldn't stand the irregularities.
My doctor told me that when I do get ready to have children I will need fertility treatments.
I would definitely speak to your doctor, she will be able to tell you definitely what is going on!
Good luck!

your doc would be the best, but you can also calculate by using your lmp information. babyzone .com has a ovulation calendar and it will pin point the dates you could be fertile. you can also go to your local store and pick up an ovulation kit and try using that. you should also notice cervial mucus. when you notice the egg white cm, thats when you are ovualting. most say its about 14 days after the first day of your mp.
good luck-

Sorry, but if you have been off the pill for 2 years and your periods have not normalized, you really need to see a GYN. Have you not had a Pap Smear in those 2 years? If not, you really, really need to have one and then you can discuss this with her/him.

You can get an ovualtion kit to check. Or just go to the doctor to get a blood test. They wil only poke you one time for several vials of blood. It's not too bad. It'll be worth it since you need to know.

ovacue is a great device to tell you when you are ovulating. it takes about 1 month to calibrate and get used to, but once calibrated, it is as easy as licking a sensor on a stick.

to regulate your periods see links below for great herbal remedies. "female formula" and "female balance formula" both would be great for you.
if your periods are erratic, so is your ovulation. to get pregnant, you really need to regulate your periods NATURALLY
(and never use "the pill" again, the ovacue can be used as a planning type of birth control and has the same effectiveness rate as "the pill")

Ovulation tests are available at drug stores, but they aren't so easy to use if your periods are irregular. It's still best to talk to your gynecologist. If you have insurance it'll be cheaper than buying a bunch of ovulation kits.
Best of luck!

Mark up a calendar for a couple months with anything you notice that is relevant to your menstrual cycle then see a specialist.
