I don't understand it. It said places like Long Island, Routes 106 and 107 in Hicksville,Northern State Parkway and Willis Avenue.

No, I live on Long Island (New York) and it's been sunny all day!
EDIT: we had a terrible rain storm last Wednesday maybe that's what they are referring to.

it did last night .. more storms on the way did you forget hurricane ike in ohio? id say yes it will affect everyone on earth it will affect the entire usa of course.. the whole world has an effect on the whole world like earthquakes just hearing news on tv affects everyone also .. all hurricanes affect the entire usa everything affects us all snow rain lightening news in tv friends along the east coast are affected were affected mentally the storms are awful in ohio this year.. last night wasnt as bad as the map on tv showed it to be but it was ugly. well we have had a nice day today here in England but what Ive seen on sky news weather its going to chuck it down tomorrow. i wish an hope for a nice day again.
