I've done my homework, and I don't really support any of them on more than maybe 60% of their views. I can't find anyone who I think represents even close to what I believe on the important issues. Who are you voting for and why?

Simply to elect the lesser evil?

Here's a real simple and honest reason, if you do not exercise your right to vote-you have no right to complain about anything that goes wrong after wards..Also, if enough people to not turn out to vote, the right will be taken away from all of us. Senators use to be chosen by the state general Assembly, not the residents of the state-and if we do not exercise our right to vote, it will go back to that..as well as presidential, and every other federal position.

And to dispute the paper ballot guy, there were more problems with the voting machines during the last election than any others previously..However, you didn't hear anyone screaming about it.

that's impossible to respond to because of fact the applicants have not yet been desperate. in the primaries in Washington, I plan on vote casting for Romney. he's the only one which has even a undemanding comprehend-how of economics and he's pragmatic adequate to get consequences. Hillary is with the help of far the main corrupt and neither her nor Obama have any relative adventure in national politics so I won't hardship with the Democratic primaries here (i'm self sufficient so i'm getting to %. which social gathering I vote for in the primaries).

You can find one of them that you agree with 60%? For a presidential election, that's actually pretty good.

What it comes down to, though, is after the primaries, you will face the stark choice of whoever the most radically left-wing 51% of the Democratic party vs the most radically right-wing 51% of the Republican party think would make the best president. Both parties are currently dominated by the loony-tunes of thier 'base,' and that's making it hard on us moderates.

In the past, the 'base' was often taken for granted, and candidates apealed more to the middle.

The more paper votes there are, the harder it is for them to hide them.

Vote absentee. It increases your chance of having your vote counted by 40%.

I haven't decide yet but, Ron Paul and Mike Gravel have the cajones I like to see in a candidate.... I'm betting money neither the Republican corporation or the Democrat corporation will allow them to win the primary.. both of them speak out for the citizens.

We just can't have that, now can we?

There is no reason to vote for anyone you don't like. We are constantly forced to pick between terrible and worse. If we all stayed home, they would be forced to govern without the consent of the people. And it would be about time. Look what happened last time. We were forced to choose Bush because the alternative was Kerry. Now we suffer with Bush. Screw that. I'm not doing that any longer. Why do you think so many other people don't bother voting?

On the one hand if you don't vote you will have had no say or input as to who will be elected to run things. On the other hand if you don't care who's running things, than no I can't give you a good reason. As to who I'm voting for and why, I'll keep the curtain closed.

You are never going to find someone who supports everything you supports. Instead, you must look for the person who represents your ideology and values best. I voted for Bush in 2004 not because I liked him or many of his policies, but because I agreed with him on the issue of taxes and social security more than his opponent.

I am a moderate (fiscally right/socially center-left) so I really like Rudy Giuliani this time around. He is the only candidate with a record of cutting taxes, balancing budgets, fighting crime, and being socially moderate to progressive. Also, he left NYC in better shape than he found it.

For a change, I am voting straight Democratic ticket because the republicans have proved time after time that they are most incompetent at governing and very corrupt and criminal too.
