Lighter skin and eyes, thinner lips, less curly hair, more defined nose.

Some of these things will give you clues, but the only way to know for sure is to ask or do a DNA test.

If they're not African born in Africa, they're definitly mixed with White, Native American, or both. It's rare for an American black person to be full-blooded African. My wife is black and she has African, Arabic, Cherokee, and Irish in her. In her family , they go from really dark to really light with green eyes.

considering the"white" mindset of more than two centuries
that it was all right for a man to use a black woman because
any baby that came from her was just another black;
if they are american they are probably of mixed race.
now a question; does it make a difference to you to know
that the african american in question may be a blood
connection?

The first idiot that answered your question is an all out moron and a waste of skin but to answer your question you really can't tell all the time. From my experience a lot of the time the individual just looks like a light skinned black person or sometimes they can be even darker. So its sometimes hard to determine, but something like that really shouldn't matter.

You can't always tell. Some genes are just stronger than others. Some people only favor one parent while others do not favor mom or dad but rather grandmom. Genes play a big role in everything.

There are millions of Blacks with thinner lips and narrow noses etc, such as Ethiopians, Somalians and etc. Do they have to be White-Black?.. HECK NO.

Look at the MILLIONS of others in the islands, look at the Domincans, etc.

I don't know if your serious but let me respond. I was born in South Africa but I am milky white. Why do people automatically think that an African-American has to be black? Isn't that just a bit like stereotyping?
