assume you meant -12/w = -15 / (w - 1)

cross multiply
-15w = -12(w - 1)

distribute
-15w = -12w + 12

add 12w for both sides
-3w = 12

divide -3 for both sides
w = -4

w can not be 0 or 1

-12/w=-15/(w-1)
Cross Multiply getting:
-15w = -12(w-1) = -12w +12
-3w = 12
w = -4
