I'm sure there are better sources for information on diabetes and pregnancy than this site. For now, until you can ask your dr. what to do, just keep your blood sugar level where it's supposed to be.

A high risk pregnancy is one where complications like preeclampsia, toxemia, high blood pressure, premature labor or other pregnancy difficults are more likely to occur. That does not mean they will occur, but they might. So the dr. is going to keep a special eye out on you to make sure nothing goes wrong. As long as you do what the dr. tells you, and call him anytime you have a question, you and your baby will likely be fine.

I had a high risk pregnancy with my son (17). I spent the last 6 weeks in and out of the hospital, on bed rest, because the rascal wanted to come home early. It was rough, I was not happy (bed rest is NOT fun), but I and my son made it through just fine. He's now a junior in HS and begging for his driver's license (not gonna happen).

Don't be scared. Keep your dr. informed of any changes, and follow his instructions and everything by the grace of God will be okay.

Congratulations!

You need to talk to you Dr. Yes it will be considered high risk but with proper care everything will be great. Just listen to your Dr and do what he recommends and take care of yourself. CONGRATULATIONS!

Ask your doctor they should be able to refer you to someone or they can give you like a diet plan things you can eat and cant eat kinda like a day to day thing, that is what they did with my younger sis...

GET YOU A GOOD DOCTOR!!!! PLEASE!!! i had gestational diabetes and if your doctor cares and YOU care you can have a normal pregnancy. BUT if you don't do exactly as they consultants tell you anything can happen. get adoctor who knows your problem and by all means TELL HIM/HER HOW SCARED YOU ARE
