I know I didnt make the marriage rules. It gets to confusing not to mention over 1/2 wind up in divorce.

No one really made the rules of marriage. The Catholic Church made up the rules of marriage based in what they think that God said and based on the Ten Commandments.

what rules? Do you mean vows? I am not sure about that, but I think it is up for each couple to decide their own expectations within their relationship. Not depend on some 100 year old vows.

What rules? There are no rules. Its like raising children. There are many theories and "manuals" but you have to figure out what works for you.
