Nas is a lyricist but so is Jay-Z.
Jay-Z makes the best songs, has the most hits, is the richest, is the most versatile because he can sell records; making club music, serious music, and commercial music. Jay-Z has a streak of 7 straight solo albums going #1 and yes, thats a hip-hop record BITCHES. Just because Nas raps about Africa doesn't make him better than nobody because Common and Talib Kweli say the same **** Nas says does that make them better than Jay. Jay-Z is the Michael Jordan of rap because he is the greatest of all time and he is consistent. He's never going to fail even when people are rooting for him too

basically you're askin nas or jay-z.................i'll go with God's Son, look at what he's accomplished in his career; debut album 'illmatic' probably the greatest album of all time, 'it was written' one of the best lyrical albums of all time, 'stillmatic' classic, he had what 8 straight platinum/multi platinum albums including 3 classic albums, i dont know if any rappers match his lyrical ability....but Jay-z is a great rapper as well..
