Now that Priest Holmes will be reporting to camp, what about Larry Johnson? Did he shot himself in the foot? If Priest comes back strong, the Chiefs just might go ahead and trade him. If the Cheifs like what they see, Larry Johnson might be history. What do you think?

to the lastdarktemplar, hope that's right, good answer. I was actually thinking about that. Those two together would be hell for opposing defenses. They just need a decent quarterback now. I'm not a Chiefs fan, but this backfield combo would look imposing.

I know Priest has been out and is older, but could still do a little bit for the Chiefs, Johnson would get most of the load though.

Mr_cj_jr...I agree with you that KC should pay Larry Johnson, he was a horse last season.

LJ will probably go to his Priest to make confession...
...and tell him to get used to being a back-up if you come back.
Holmes, who has been oft injured the past few seasons, has been out for a year and will be beyond rusty. There is no way that he will take the job away from Johnson, unless LJ falls flat on his face in Training Camp. It would take an act of God for that to happen, but then again, we ARE talking about a priest here...LJ may be a jerk, but he still is one of the most gifted RB's in the league today.

yall sound so stupid
the cheifs said they arent forcing or even slightly supporting holmes they said they will watch him very closely and if he can pass the training camp conditioning he might play MIGHT
they never said he will return and be good the media told us that all kc is doing is trying to make it seem like they have a backup if lj tries to go and be a free agent which he probably will cuz hes greedy
he is good but im not sure about lt money cuz lets face it he is 2 years older then lt and may not have many years left in his prime
he is a power back like jamal lewis and power backs dont last very long i say he has 4 1k plus yard years left then he is done they need to trade him next year and pick up a young new rb

I could see the Chiefs' running game using these two backs. The NFL has seen a lot of teams use two backs to spilt time. If Priest can return to his old form, this team could do a lot of damage with him and LJ. Don;t forget that Johnson had 416 touches last year. That is a heck of a lot. Priest should be a welcome addition to relieve that load.

Priest has been out of the game for over a year. Even IF he is totally healthy he'll definitely won't be at top form. KC will sign LJ in time. That or we'll see them trade him for some veteran OL to try to replace the OL guys they've lost.

Well the chiefs are my team...if they were smart stick with Larry Johnson he's younger he's fresher he's destined to do great things, break records like he already has. they should put holmes on FB or a WR if they can or put him as #2 running back. or they could trade holmes for a good quarterback after they got rid of trent green to the dolphins

KC would be foolish to think that Holmes (who hasn't played in what, 1.5 seasons?) could replace LJ.
First of all, Holmes damn near got paralized and is FOOLISH to risk permanent injury by trying to comeback. Regardless of being 'medically cleared to play', he should retire.
Next, LJ and his agent KNOW that Holmes is one good hit away from being finished in the NFL. They also know that KC is trying to bully him into coming back by bringing back Holmes.
Bottom line, it's all a ploy. KC should just pony up and pay the man!!

Holmes is no longer an elite back or even a starter. If Johnson stays he will still get 3 times as many carries as Holmes.

Larry Johnson will cry like a ***** because he aint LaDainian Tomlinson and he will never be. He is upset because L.T broke all those records and won all those awards. He wants some attention but can you really blame him. Besides, he's still sexy
