She has my vote

If she ran, I wouldn't vote for her. Just because she does good with her money doesn't mean she should be president. Bill Gates gives more money to the people of Africa than his kids will get from him when he dies, that doesn't mean he'll be a good president. From what I see, Oprah gets more upset by people lying to her about books than anything political. She would go far in the race, sadly, but I don't think she would, nor deserves to win.

Yes, she probably would win. Her target demographic for her show is what, 30-45 year old women? Who votes more? Women. Is it true that women tend to vote for women in elections? Yes. However, Oprah would be an awful president. As said best by a FEMALE classmate - 'I will not have a woman running my country!' (Sure is ironic that some women like my classmate URGE lawmakers to help women, but wants nothing to do with a woman being in power). (by the way, I am not sexist and am not opposed to a woman running the country. Man or woman, they sure as hell better be qualified and not be an oil tycoon *cough* Bush/Cheney)

Why would anyone vote for Oprah? Sure, she's a woman and I can see how she can carry the female vote..and while I'm there..DON'T BE STUPID AND VOTE FOR SOMEONE BASED UPON THEIR RACE OR GENDER!!! Okra has no exp. in politics, Jerry Springer would make a better candidate than her, based upon his Governorship and law background...At least he, as well as Geraldo for that matter, have some exp. in politics.

She might. She is very compassionate and intellegent.

She also knows that lack of personal responsability is the reason why things have taken seveeral turns for the worse.

I don't know all of her platforms so I could not say now whether I would vote for her or not, but I do respect her for the things she does whether I disagree with her on anything else she does.

Probably, we don't vote for the most qualified anymore. We seem to vote like it's a high school popularity contest.

Her fans are largely people who complain a lot but do not vote.

crknapp79: J Springer was never a govonor; he was a mayor (of Cincinnati, I believe) but point taken.

Very good possibility. She couldn't be any worse than any of the others that are running for President in 2008.

No.

Oprah is a cultural icon, not an electable, or qualified leader of a country.
