There is a program called Knitware Sweaters 2.5. It is patterning software. Not just for knitting, it is also for creating crochet patterns. You can use it to duplicate the sweater style including the hood using your own yarn and stitch pattern.
The demo is free and you should be able to get the pattern you want amongst many others.

You will need to find a crochet stitch that resembles the knit pattern, and that can be difficult. Crochet is almost always bulkier than knit stitches. But if you can find a stitch that is pleasing, crochet a swatch about 4x4 inches to figure out how many stitches you need, then just make it the same size that the pattern calls for.
You can find a book in the library that has all kinds of crochet stitches in to choose from. If you are very inexperienced, you might want to keep looking for just the right pattern, but making your own can be a lot of fun.

Guage is a lot different in crochet than knitting and the amount of yarn differs so it will be very hard to convert one to the other. You can find patterns for crochet that look a lot like knitted patterns and vice versa.
You might try lionbrand.com for it's excellent free pattern library

What weight yarn are they using? What size knitting needles are required for this pattern. You can actually do this very easily. You just need to follow the measurements in the pattern. The stitch that you use matters some but if you are watching the measurements closely then you shouldn't have any problems.

theres no easy way to convert a knitted project ot a crochet. the reasons are that the stitches are completely differnt along with the gauge.
you could copy the size but the stitch pattern will be more difficult. trust me ive tried.

Their is a place on the net that tells you how but I can's remember where it is at but I think either Annie's Attic or The Needlecraft Shop has instructions on how to do that.
