Why or why not?

I'd say, in terms of presidency, a foreign person is someone who was not born on American soil.

And it's true that we're all immigrants, but most of us have been here for over 50 years. And, if you want to think if it that way, everyone in the world is an immigrnt to whatever land they live on since people migrated across pangea. So we have to have a law somewhere.

I like Arnold but he should not be president. Nor should have Bob Hope who was born in England. The loyalties of those born in another country may be questionable and so the founders put it into the Constitution. You know, the Constitution? That is the document Dubya thinks is just a gd piece of paper and his AG says is obsolete.

It would take a Constitutional Amendment. I think it will happen one day. But probably not in Arnolds lifetime...

On a personal note. I think if someone who is a Citizen, and been one for whatever number of years Congress decides, why not?

Caldude...Arnie has not run up 1 nickle in debt. The 70% Democrat State Senate and Assemblly spends the money. And Business is coming back to California because of Arnold. Get the Dems to knock off the extended welfare above Federal Guidelines, and you will see the Bus Loads of folks coming here from other states stop, when theirs runs out.

No. I like the rule that eliminates foreign born citizens from being President. The concept of Arnold being President doesn't bother me as much as opening the door for someone like Rupert Murdoch.

Besides, Arnie has done a pretty terrible job of being governor of California and run up debt of over $10 billion dollars.

Schwarzenegger is a naturalized American citizen, the Constitution says that the president must be an American born citizen. Your question is moot, unless the Constitution is amended.

No, Arnold shouldn't even be a governor. But, leave it to California to want "The Terminator" over a qualified person. This is why that whole state should be exempt from voting.

Besides, do we really want to open the door for lunatics like Canadian Michael Moore?

Arnold is a perfect puppet President for the elite. He has vulnerabilities that can be exploited if he steps out of line. I predict that laws will be passed to allow him to become president. We can continue our lock-step march toward conformity and fear.

no because they may have divided loyalties. The government is considering changing that law. However, don't forget Arnold is married to a Kennedy so it could happen.

High School government class taught me the constitution, there are many ways a naturalized citizen who loves this country can help without trouncing our founding document.
