I mean, come on. Those dolls look like whores, and they go as young as babies (also complete with the whoreish makeup). These dolls promote crass materialism, promote acting like a ditz, and make young girls believe that looking good is the only thing that matters.

I also asked a similar question in the Movies section. Obviously, it's about the movie. Here's the link:

I completely agree with you. When i was young i played with those dolls, and could never understand why my dad was so against me having them. Now i realize that my dad didnt want to see me corrupted by them! And to be truthful, i almost was. I used to aspire to be like them when i was older. Even after i stopped playing with them i still wanted to be like them: popular and skanky! Thankfully i learned my lesson! There is a girl at my school who played with them till last year. She is honestly very slutty and self centered. So the truth is, even though they are just dolls, they can affect the way young girls turn out.
I think its disgusting, They know young girls are easily infulenced by that stuff. Its horrible that they would take advantage of that! At least barbie was OK!
Blood sucking leaches, thats what the inventors of these dolls are.

I completely agree. And now Mattel is doing their best to alter the Barbie line to reflect and compete with the popularity of Bratz. An entire generation of skanks are being raised and it's disgusting. It seems like we are training our girls to work the corners from an early age. Even the fashion for girls is getting more and more revealing. Don't get me wrong, I have actively participated in shows like Rocky Horror so it is not me being a prude. It's just a disgusting trend in our increasingly public culture. At least the old Barbies had doctor and lawyer editions for a bit of role modeling...

I agree with you, unfortunately my little step sister loves them. The fact that they are "dolls" they always look like they have make up on but I agree the clothes like the short skirts and everything is a little too much.
The least they could have done was not named them "bratz"
I guess the parents who don't want their kids part of all that just won't buy anything.

Exactly, I agree. Those dolls are useless and sends a bad message for younger girls. All they enforce is dressing slutty, sexuality, and body image disorders. But people wonder why girls have such poor self esteem issues when they reach middle school. Bratz are practically saying it is okay to be slutty, vain, shallow and self centered.

usually, I wouldn't care. I would say that they are just dolls. However, after seeing my friend's 7 year old girl hiking her skirt up "because Chloe"s skirts only cover her butt" I would have to agree with you. They should make the appearance and outfits a little more appropriate for the age level of the kids playing with them.

I thought I was the only one who thought those things were ugly and a bad influence.
I wonder if there was a way to get them off the toy shelves???
