Look up the head casting # 1st and see what year heads you have. The block don't matter much due to fact that heads can be swapped around and the plugs screw into heads not block.. To find the head casting # take a valve cover off and look for a longer # on the head, between a couple of the rocker studs. Then look that # up at www.mortec.com
GM used 2 major types of spark plugs.
Up to about 1974 the plugs had a washer seat and a 13/16" hex wrench fitting.
about '75 up through '86 they used a taper seat, 5/8" hex wrench fitting.
If you need washer seat design.. A good starting point would be AC Delco R45S
If you need taper seat design.. AC Delco R45TS.
Plug wires... You need to know 1 thing before you buy plug wires... Do you have a points dist. or HEI dist?
HEI will have a large cap, with a square on top center of cap.. The coil is mounted inside the cap.
Points will have a small, round cap and coil a round can like coil mounted to intake, firewall, etc with a wire running to it that looks like a spark plug wire.
I would use 8mm jacketed wires.

Any shop like Autozone will have a book listing plugs for your year. They will list the basic, platinum and iridium plugs, different makes, and you choose. You need that list because you have to get the correct hear range. Too hot, they burn out early, too cold, they carbon and short out early. But an upgrade will be a platinum or iridium. As far as plug wires, the upgrades could be expensive, and will be from a maker of performance parts, like AcCel. Again, they will be custom fit sets, and you need the catalogue listing to get the right set.

Moroso and MSD sells large diameter RFI wires that have low resistance and will not ruin your radio reception. They are custom fit wires. I believe they sell sets that will go beneath headers if you have them. Generaly speaking most people prefer the set that goes on top and you can anchor them with a loom set that bolts on the lower valve cover holes.
