Dealing with the break up of your marriage is a tough time. I understand that on top of all the emotional drama going on that you would have concerns about many issues. Don't know your situation but I would not be surprised to hear that you have had to sacrifice a lot to follow your husband where ever the army has sent him during his service. It's not easy to rack up a good solid resume if you have had to move often. I'ts possible that your in a situation there this is a legitimate concern. Regardless of the circumstances of your pending split, you now have to adjust to life outside the army, and depending on how long you have been married that may be a bit daunting. Chin up. Take a deep breath. The military has all kinds of services that are available to you, you are at this moment still an army wife. Find out who you need to speak with that can answer your questions and advice you. Be prepared that should the split be permanent you will have to be responsible for yourself in the future. You can do this! For the immediate short time however don't be afraid to ask for and expect some assistance to get you on your feet. The important thing is to move quickly, don't expect anyone to come to you with solutions, find them. Hope all works well for you and wish you a great future with or without your soldier. I personally appreciate the sacrifice that our soldiers spouses are making and have made to support our country. However I don't expect any spouse to stay in a bad marriage just for our country!

As soon as he changes his marital category within JPA and his regiment, you then have 93 days before you are deemed as an unlawful tenant.
I know that it sounds harsh, but you must stay in the quarter after 93 days, until you are evicted by MOD.
If you do this then the council have to find you a place. If you leave voluntarilly then you are deemed to of made yourself homeless and you have dipped.
Sorry. :-(
Below are some links that should help.

If you are in base housing, you will have to leave. You will have to find your own housing once you split, but I think they give you 30 days.

you need to talk to his 1st Sgt or Commander...my military experience is 15 years old and things could have changed since then but, it used to be that until the divorce, you are authorized family housing, (he can move to the barracks) but as soon as the divorce is final (as in the day before because without a ID you won't be able to get into the home) you will have to move since you will no longer be a dependant.

if your husband is army, he will have to untill you are legally divorced. it is called financila responsibility.. if he gives you trouble, call his 1st sgt, or Commander. it will be taken care of immediatly.......if the split up is your fault please do not do this to him.. it would be a terrible misuse of the "system"
