How do I build a campfire on the beach?

I will be on the beach in the evening and want to impress my friends with a campfire where we can sit and relax after dark. There will only be sand and water....no rocks or fire pits.
I am bringing my own wood in. Any suggestions?

It isn't hard, start the fire with some small kindling or paper. You'll figure it out fine.

You really need something to contain the fire in. I use the bottom of my smoker and it also doubles as a bbq. An old washing machine drum works too.

You need a pit, really this is how some fires get you of hand.
