If the tea cup has a design on it, the design faces you. This usually causes the handle to face in a right ( East ) direction. If you are left handed, use the cup in the most comfortable position for you.

the handle is on the outside of the cup. it's either on the left side or the right side depending on the way you place it

you find it on its outside, or its right side, or its left side or on the cup. Anyway they're all the same who cares
