I assume the summation is for 'i=1' to '2' .

3(1) + 3(2) = 3 (1+2) = 9

This is an arithmetic series; you can also use the formula
Sum = 0.5 n (first_term + last_term)

Hello

We have i going from 1 to 2 so we have 3*1 + 3*2 = 3+6 = 9
