Dear friend, Sexual intercourse is a joining of the bodies of a man and a woman, representing a forever commitment that should only be expressed in marriage. When you give yourself to your wife or husband, you will be able to openly accept children and enjoy one another, free of the worry of sexually transmitted disease. Anything short of this is fornication and wrong. Also, sex does not just include intercourse, it includes many sexual practices that should only be expressed in marriage. Sincerely, Runner

A 12 year old male has the equipment to impregnate a woman and I believe that woman as young as 12 have successfully carried babies to full term.
But, I don't recommend it until you are at least 18. You are too young to understand what you need to understand to be able to make an intelligent decision about sex until then. It is hard for me to explain it to someone who is young, but here is a similar example.
I can build a radio out of spare electrical parts. But, I don't know how to build the tools to build the tools that build those parts and I don't have enough skill to take those same parts and build a computer. Both are beyond me.
To be able to understand how a radio is and what it can do you have to understand electricity and what it can do and then you have to understand how an electric signal can be sent through the air. If you don't have the intelligence to understand what air or electricity is, say you are an ancient Egyptian, then I can't explain a radio to you and trying to explain a TV is much harder.
It is similar to sex. The young don’t have the maturity or the intelligence to understand what they need to understand to understand all the complexities of sex. Even most 18 year olds don’t have enough information to make an intelligent decision, which explains the increasing number of unwed mothers and children without fathers. Just telling you that you need to be older isn’t good enough, I need to explain that you lack the maturity, but you don’t have the maturity to understand the lack of maturity that you do have. Try explaining how a TV works to a caveman and you will understand what I mean.

First of all, you don't "have" to have intercourse. There are many people who have decided that celibacy is the right choice for them.
Second, the decision to be intimate with another person is a personal one and should only be made when the individual feels ready.
Lastly, I would recommend a person who is thinking about having intercourse, be well educated in sex, understand the risks involved, and be well aware that there is always time. They/you can always wait.

Your age is of some importance. You basically need to be able to distinguish the difference between love and lust. You also must know the responsibility of protection is not to be ignored but used every time you are sexually intimate with someone.
You must also know that you are just as responsible as your partner is for protection not just him. You should know for sure that being intimate with this person is what you really want.
I would suggest that if you have not that you wait until you are about 18 years of age. I am of course assuming that your are under age. If this is incorrect then I apologize. My sister whom will 21 years of age in November of this year is a virgin and is proud of it. So with that being said concern yourself with something other than sex it is more complication in it than you realize.

Theres no set age. I say you're old enough when you understand all of the heart break and complications of sex. Also, when you're old enough to raise a child IF you get (or get someone) pregnant. No birth control is 100% so you run the risk of getting (or getting someone) pregnant everytime you have sex.
Some people understand that in their late teens, some people arent okay with that until they are in their 20s.

I was 16 my first time. I think it is up to the individual person. My friend was 14 his first time and he has had no regrets. Personally I think 16 is an OK age. Most people would say 18 or 21.

In most states, you have to be at least 16, but some are 17 and the rest are 18.

It has nothing to do with the Number of years you are aged. It has to do with emotional, physical, and mental ability to deal with the consequences of sex. Pregnancy, std's, emotional stress from having sex with a half wit idiot ect. So even people who are 25 may not be any more ready than a 17 year old.

You are supposed to be between 16-18 depending on the laws in your state. but kids as young as 10 are having sex.
If you are underage, no matter how old the other party is, you can be sited for statuatory rape. There were two kids that were both arrested for it. She was pregnant with his child at 15 (he was 15 also)
