No, its up to the user if they want to use their own pic for their avatar. The ones that are pathetic are the ones that are here for the attention by asking the "Am I pretty" or "What do you think of my avatar" questions those are the ones that are pathetic. I admire you for putting your pic as your avatar, I wish I could but I can't. I admire you for doing and I think you're beautiful.

I don't think it is true. Like I don't think you need an ego boost and many people who have their picture on here don't need it either. But I do think some people who feel insecure about themselves do put their picture on here to try to get validation from everyone else, so I guess the reason why their picture is up depends on the person. But I think the guy who wrote that is really mean, I don't think anyone is "mentally pathetic." Some people may be insecure but I don't think you should ever say that. So overall no I don't think it is a true statement. I hope this answer helps! =)

Seems like an odd statement to me - doubt if that even remotely approaches any type of "one-fits-all" answer for a why people do anything! I've been trying to put up our picture for a couple days, and finally have it where I can put it in my Yahoo account to move to the Answer account area.

No... I think it shows confidence to put up a pic of yourself...

You're not pathetic, you're pretty *offers ego boost, just in case*

the standard sketch element is great with me. I certainly have a small %on my 360 in basic terms for honesty's sake if somebody takes the time to benefit out the internet site. i admire the canines avatars. I exchange into biased with the help of those because of fact i'm this way of sucker for the canines species.

Thats possible. But I put mine up because I want to. I don't ask people if i'm pretty or what so, I don't need peoples opinion on how I look. I have nothing to hide, so I don't care if people know how I really look.

No I saw that answer. I just think you are much braver than I. I teach school so I don't want my students stalking me and knowing all my smart *** answers to some of life's issues. I try to let them think I am a robot. LOL

well, that's my real pic in my avatar, so, no i don't think so. and i'll bet the person that said that was hiding behind a cartoon or a pic of an animal. if they are that weak, they have no room to talk.
