The (AKP) - Justice and Development Party - the party already in power before the elections, won the most seats by a large margin, though with only about 50% of the popular vote. The Party's goals include joining the EU, though it is an Islamic-based party, which has caused some concern among the Turkish people, and particularly the Military, which traditionally tries to assure the nation remain united, and it's government, secular.

Think the Turkish election was won by the same guy who won it before, only this time he promised to stay on the straight and narrow and uphold Turkies secular government and political system.

Does anyone really believe that?

Not me.

I see the guy's wife on TV, she wears a head-scarf everywhere. Well in Turkey it is illegal to war any kind of religious outfit, including the 'head scarf' in any government building, including schools etc. So how come she gets away with it?

More and more Turkish women are covering up like they're headed towards a totally unacceptable extreme Muslim Republic.

I do NOT want Turkey in the EU -not unless they rid themselves entirely of this extreme Muslim threat.

Time for the EU to rid itself of all religious ties of any kind. Also the House of Commons which has 'Christian' prayers daily. This and a lot more besides should be abolished.

If a person wants to pray, fine, but not in the office. In a room set aside for that purpose as is now the case in most UK.gov buildings. Anyone can go there, it's not tied to any one religion.
