Yes, but you want to be sure that you have an OB who understands the disease. This may require a high risk doctor rather than a general ob/gyn unless you live in a large city where they are more familiar with it. I knew a gal about 10 years ago who nearly died because her doctor didn't believe women could be hemophiliacs and didn't order the clotting factor to be available.

no it does not...................... I have it, and I'm a mommy of 3.................... But you need to be careful since it is a RARE disorder..................... Talk to your Dr. about getting a transfusion of cyropricipate the week you are due. To help your blood clot. This will help alot. They may have to give you several depending on your blood count.

Your children need to be tested .

You need to be very careful and make sure you remind your dr often of the bleeding disorder. And any of the hospital staff.

Most OB/ GYNS are not up to date on this........... Include your blood dr ( hematologists) in on it.................... He is your "primary care" as a general rule. Because he needs to know about ANYTHING that could cause bleeding, or surgery ect. OR ANY MEDICATIONS............... a regular dr might give you a drug for a reason that your Hematologists would know that it can cause problems with your disorder.

I told a surgeon once i had it........... He said OK..... kept typing, then asked what exactly it was.................. I called my Hemo and had him call the surgeon.

This is something that you need to discuss with your OB/GYN and the doctor that treats you for this disorder. I know some blood problems can lead to miscarrige, but can be treated.
