-1, though the exact path to the answer depends on whether you've omitted some parentheses.

If you mean the two sums in the entirety are to be divided, meaning that you used "/" as a shorthand for the two sums being written one over another:

(- 4x + 4y) / (- 4y + 4x) =
-4 ( x - y ) / [ 4 (x - y) ] =
-4 / 4 =
-1

If, instead the division is intended only to cover the 4y and -4y terms (i.e., the equation was written on one line and you're expected to know that division gets precedence over addition), just combine like terms:

-4x + 4y / -4y + 4x =
-4x + 4x + (4y/-4y) =
0 + -1 =
-1

First factor out a GCF on the top and on the bottom.

-4x + 4y / -4y + 4x
4(-x + y) / 4(-y + x)

You can cancel the 4s so it leaves you with:

-x + y / -y + x

Notice how the signs are reversed on each letter. This means it will cancel out to equal -1, as opposed to cancelling to +1 if they were an exact match, because (-x + y) * -1 = (x + -y) where both signs switch.

So your answer is -1.

-4x + 4y / -4y + 4x = -4x + (4y/-4y) + 4x

so

-4x + (1/-1) + 4x
-4x + -1 + 4x

group like terms

-4x + 4x + -1

0 + -1

-1

is what i got.
-4x+4y
-4y+4x

the 4y's cancel out, leaving a negative 1 on the bottom and a positive on the top

then the 4x's do the same but opposite, and it end up being 0/0
so.
