I washed my clothes a couple of weeks ago in my apartment complex, & there was only 1 washer & 1 dryer. When I washed the clothes, they were 1/2 washed & very soapy because of the machine working poorly, & the dryer didn't dry my clothes @ ALL. I have to do laundry again, & I sadly have to go out of my way & take a cab to a good laundromat.

wash each load twice. the first load put in soap and whatever else you need for that load. then when you wash the load a second time dont put anything in, hopefully the second washing will rinse whatever soap residue is left on clothes

When I lived in an apartment, I had similar problems with the laundry facilities. The dryer even burnt some of my clothes. Eventually I bought a small portable washing machine from Sears. It lasted me many years, was convenient, and literally paid for itself over the years. You can hang your clothes to dry in the shower and use the dryer for towels and blankets etc. You can also use the bath tub to wash clothes in and let them drip dry on hangers.

That really sucks. Can you talk to a few other tenants and maybe you can all go to the landlord or call him together; keep calling until he fixes it? It will cost you a fortune to keep taking cabs to the laundromat.

Complain to the apartment manager about the machines. If he/she keep getting complaints from the tenants they will fix the machines. Complain, complain, complain until something is done. Its bad you had to go out your way to do laundry.

You answered your own question, go to another laundry facility. In the meantime, let your complex know about the issues they are having with the machines.

i'd bring it up with your landlord and request him to fix the washer and dryer at your apartment.
