Think they are the only ones that have a right to say what they like?

Freedom of speech applies to some other countries too....and we all have a right not to listen to them as well.

I'm in the UK and I have as much freedom as I ever would want. Still some people in the US think they use their rights to harass others online. Here we have the right to not listen and put up with harassment.

Well I am an American and I thought most people have the right to say what they like. However in some countries you can't print or broadcast opposing opinions. But I am certain even in these countries the citizens have strong opinions on what they like or don't like. However Americans on Yahoo Answers sure are obnoxious sometimes for not respecting the opinions of others. It seems that people who like to rile other people gravitate to this place.

I've seen more than a few Brits engage in bashing and harassment - as well as Indians, Pakistanis and god knows how many other nationalities.

There are pricks all over the world - we certainly haven't cornered the market here in the good old USA.

And freedom of speech doesn't apply to a privately owned website no matter WHERE you live.

I don't know who these Americans are that would think that. But freedom of speech should apply to everyone everywhere. Why would any American think that they are the only ones to have a right to say what ever they please? All Americans should want the best for everyone else as well. We are so privileged in this country, we should thank God each day that we live in America.

We feel that way because a little document called the Constitution gives Every AMERICAN the right to freedom of speech. We certainly don't feel we are the '' only ones'' who have this right as we allow '' visitors and guests '' in our country the same privileges as our citizens.

You got a point . However, America is more tuned in with the rights and Freedom thing than other countries.
Even Germany is democratic ( I am Ex-German) they still can't open their mouth that freely like in the USA>

I disagree.

Possibly it's just the ones on t.v. that you are referring to. The rest of America is really not much like Hollywood...or NYC for that matter. They just speak for us publically and sometimes inflame us and sometimes they have been known to promote necessary change.

The rest of the Americans put up wth it for the purpose of entertainment value.

The difference is that you would have that right in the USA. Would an American have that right in your country?
