Write a contract with them that you will wear your helmet all the time. They don't want you to be a head injury case. You have to be responsible in your risk taking activities, too. No one wants you to be impaired mentally or physically. We all tend to think that we will never get hurt too much, but it does happen and each individual is responsible to prevent harm to themselves and others.

1. Research skateboard safety and safe practices.
2. Convinceyour parents you will always wear your helmet by wearing it ALWAYS like at the dinner table, while you sleep and watch tv.
3. explain to your parents that they can keep the skateboard and only give it back to you when you have your helmet on.
4. offer to let them watch when you skateboard so they can see you have it on
5. offer to videotape your skateboarding so they see you are wearing it
6. learn more about head injuries so that you can honestly say it's not worth it and you will never ride without a helmet.

if none of that works you will jsut have to wait until you can pay for your own health insurance, because they do have a vested interest (they pay your medical bills)
