Will white clouds do better in a 10 gal with only white clouds or some white clouds with other fish? And also, do I need anything special to breed them or will they just do it on their own. And will a strong filter suck up baby fish.

They will breed on their own, but they need your help to keep the babies alive. All fish appreciate a tank with good cover (hiding spots) like plants, rocks, and driftwood. A strong filter will suck up baby fish, and the parents will eat the babies. Get a small (5 gallon) tank to put the babies in. For filtration in that tank, try using a sponge filter. It will also collect extra food for the fish. A regular filter would be fine for the adult tank. With the Minnows, depending on the temperature they will be kept at, you can have Danios, Hillstream Loaches, certain Tetras, and many others. By searching "coldwater fish", you will find loads of options. Good luck!

White clouds should be kept in groups of five or more, so that wouldn't leave a lot of room. You can keep them with other fish, as long as they'll both be suited by the same temperature. Since the white clouds are active swimmers, you might try a fish that's a bottom fish (corydoras catfish, which should be in groups of 3+ and some prefer cooler temperatures), or something with more color (male guppies, which can also be kept without a heater if the room doesn't get much below 70o).

If you're planning to spawn them, you can get a sponge attachment to fit over the filter intake that will keep the babies out. Other fish in the tank may eat the eggs, so you'll need a separate spawning tank. Here's a link to an article about spawning them: http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/breeding/shaw_whitecloud.html

Better to themselves. Maybe add some live plants but be sure no snails are on them! Snails will make a mess when they breed rapidly and overrun the tank, die, and foul the water. No catfish! (not even Corys) They will find and eat almost all the eggs as they are scattered. An algae eater (otto, or pleco) is about the safest thing to put with them. A gentle bubble sponge filter is the easiest on the fry. Don't turn it up too hard. Just give your fish a good home and they will grow, and do all the rest. Don't feed them too much, and all will be well.
Happy Hobbying!
