The 2005 Jefferson nickel with the Buffalo was a circulating commemorative nickel. They are part of the "Westward Journey" nickel series. With a mintage of 448,320,000 being minted at the Philadelphia mint and 487,680,000 minted at the Denver mint, the coin is far from scarce. It does however commemorate an important event in American history. The value in a lot of coins as well as items may be in their history value not their money value. The 1947-S cent had a mintage of 99,000,000 so it too is not scarce. It did have the lowest mintage of cents struck that year. It is worth holding on to for it's value has only one place to go and that is up. Most of the S (San Francisco) mint wheat back cents have lower mintage's than say the cents struck the same year in Denver or Philadelphia. Right now it sells for .05 or less in circulated grades but as more cent collectors show up the value has to go up.
