Why prohibition - just do what they did to tobacco

Jack up the price and add so much tax that eventually people will get tired of forking out $28.00 a six pack

No. The vast majority of people who drink alcohol do it in moderation. Recent medical reports suggest there may be health benefits in drinking some alcohol.

No. It is not the government's job to tell me what to do in my private life. Government does have the rational basis to tell people to not participate in activities that might harm others (like driving while under the influence) but it should not ever have the right to tell me what I can or cannot do in my own home when my activities harm nobody.

hell no, what a terrible idea. people will continue to drink either way, why try to make them into criminals. Has illegalizing drugs made people stop using them?
