Bettas often go after fish with long flowing fins (Angels, Gouramis, Guppies). They will attack any fish it finds a "threat" to its territory, so if it thinks another fish that looks like a Betta (long fins) is trying to approach it, it will attack it. Avoid nippy fish like Barbs because they will attack the Betta's fins. Hyperactive fish like Danios will stress the "laid back" Betta and should also be avoided. Good luck!

Bettas only fight other bettas, or fish that may resemble bettas (male guppies because of their long fins, gouramis, possibly long-finned danios, barbs, or tetras.

Most other fish they'll get along with, especially if it's a female betta, but there are individuals that don't get along well with any other.

The only way to know for sure is to try moving it to the tank and keeping an eye on how the fish react to each other. There may be some chasing at first, but this is normal for any new fish in a tank. As long as you don't have fish that are large enough to eat the betta, and are peaceful, go for it! The betta will probably like the extra room, especially if the tank has a heater (the bowl probably doesn't).

Also watch how strong the flow is from your filter - if this is a male betta, the longer fins don't allow them to swim well if the current is too strong.

It truly depends upon the type of fish you have in the tank. Typically male bettas fight other bettas. A small group of female bettas, preferably 5, could be housed in the same tank with one male betta. The other occupants should not be much smaller or larger than the betta. If the betta is male he may attract unwanted attention due to his flowing fins, which may be mistaken for food by other larger fish. Also, be sure that the other fish in the tank are not aggressive and things should go well.

Unless you have really pretty fishes like guppies or another betta, it shouldn't do any harm. Also, if you have aggressive fish like barbs or puffers, keep a sharp eye out for fin nipping. At the first sign take the poor fish out and get him his own little aquarium.

A 1 gallon isn't that bad to put a Beta in; they sell pretty nice looking ones. Sometimes you can put another fish in.

Yeah, I had a beta in a 45 gallon tank with all kinds of other fish. Never had a problem. He kept to himself mostly, but still enjoyed the larger swimming area. He lived for 3 years in absolute harmony with the rest of the fish. Then he died of natural causes.

Betta fish will fight each other for example if you have a male you cannot put it with a female one of them will fight the other if not both. The Bettas cannot be put with flashy fish that have long fins and are colorful these type of fish will cause the Betta to fight, fin nip. And possibly kill the other fish.

every bettas different. if you have alot of other fish that betta might be scared of the others. My cousin once put all his male bettas together in a tank. yes they fought but after realizing they'll have to live with each other they just left each ther alone and not coming to close.

It will only attack another betta. It might nip at the fins of a guppy. The only thing you have to worry about is if you have aggressive, semi aggressive or fin nipping fish. If you have a tank of peaceful community fish then you will be fine to add the betta.

If you're other fish are smaller or relatively the same size a male beta will often pick on the fish. If they are larger than the beta, or aggressive/loner type fish (such as ciclids) then you probably won't have a problem with them killing anything.

Beta fish just fight each other. The males just do. The females don't fight.
