Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me, I live in the United Kingdom and my Husband lives in California we are waiting to join him. I want him and he wants to adopt my 14yr old daughter, he has been a dad to her since she was 5yrs old although we have only been married 3yrs. Her biological Father is Unknown on the birth certificate as in the U.K he couldnt be named without his consent. All I know is he lives in Virginia and his name of course. He has had no contact and this is because I am white and he is black so my daughter is mixed race and his famikyn don't approve and to be honest she is a regret of his. How do we go about getting her adopted by my husban in the state of California. Your advice is much appreciated.

Simple,just apply for and go thru the legal adoption process. This should be very easy as I see no problem here to prevent it from happening
