Considering he is 33 and 2 years removed from football, I think it is a risky move and am afraid he is gonna get *ucked up.

The Chiefs managment probably greatly encouraged Holmes to return to put pressure on LJ, since he's threatening to hold out for a better contract - the Chiefs usually are fairly generous to their players, and LJ has definitely earned an upgrade from his backup contract, but you never know how those things are going to play out.

Having someone like Holmes ensures both that LJ will feel a little sting to get back on the field (thats how he took the spot from Holmes in the first place, after all) and that if he does hold out, they have a quality back in the short-term to fill the gap.

I'm excited and worried at the same time. I want him to be able to walk after his football career. Priest is a great football player...very modest about all of his achievements. I'm hoping he's in football shape. Having him back would really benefit the team. He's the only RB (so I've said) that is better than LT. I hope he returns to his glory days and goes out with a bang...not a whimper.

As for his playing ability and his coming back to the NFL I think he would make a great number two on a team. LJ can be the starter with the vast majority of carries and he can get his carries. As for his health there is room to be concerned. I hope he will not get hurt- he is a great guy...

I think the one thing funny about this. Rickey Williams runs away from the NFL and has no desire to play yet here is a 33 year old who wants to come back.

My thoughts are that if he can stay healthy and the Chiefs can get LJ into camp, KC's season is starting to look a lot brighter. If, and its a big if, Priest has anywhere near the production he used to be capable of the Chiefs just vaulted a lot of teams to have the best 1-2 RB combo in the league. My other thought on the issue is....

GO CHIEFS!!!!!!

The irony being that they drafted Johnson to try and pressure Hilmes into signing long term is now coming full circle where i think they will threaten to play Holmes unless Johnson signs a long term deal.

Wow. This man is talented. He wont be an everydown back. He and Larry will split carries. Actually, not even split them. Less than that. He will be fine. Look at Curtis Martin. And Jerome Bettis....both guys who did fine. And may I mention Emmit Smith. He will be a great backup to Larry,.

Between P.Holmes and M.Bennet the better Question may be how long before Larry Johnson is a Packer!
