Like: How does that animal do that? etc.
I constantly find myself saying 'I don't know' to this person. I am not one to make up stories or answer something for someone else. He called it obtuse questions, but I think there is another term out there?

obtuse sound right to me. It's definitely not a rhetorical question, that's a question that's not meant to be answered but to get you thinking.

Well, a curious person, for one.
Now, here's the thing about human behavior; the harder someone has to work to get an answer (a reward, in psych terms), the more tehy will do it, just to get that one pay-off.
It's like gambling, and it's like how companies get us to work so damned hard.
It's universal.
So for that one time that you do know hte answer, or anyone, for that matter,
will make this person's questions irresistible.
And because someone will ahve an answer every so often, this person deep down doesn't really know that you don't know!

My wife does that 'ALL' the time.
Back in high school I asked the football head coach a question he couldn't answer, so he said," Between us my father and I know everything but that's 'one' of the things that my father knows."
I never forgot that great answer and use it a lot on my wife, which just gets her mad...ha...ha!
