I think for everyday use go ahead, but when you go out on a date or special occasion go for the underwire for the extra support. Also the way you wash and wear your bras could have an effect on why you dislike them. As gross as it sounds a bra should not be washed as often as other clothes and when they are washed they should be done by hand and hung dry, or on the delicate cycle of your washer. I have noticed when I take really good care of my bras I have no problems, they even make a new bra hold type of thing just for when you wash them. Playtex does make a great soft cup bra but I find they are cheaply made, spend some extra money and invest in a good bra from places such as frediricks etc. So yes they can be supportive but just not AS supportive no matter what anyone says. Don't you just laugh when girls beg for large breast and all you want to do is get rid of yours?? =-) Good luck!

Never a necessity. They make bras now that have "invisible" underwires, or not wires at all that give the same support. Underwires are always a choice, usually for sagging or larger cup sizes.

Underwire, because the soft cup does not provide enough support. Honestly, I don't feel at all comfortable without that support.
I went to a specialty shop and was fitted professionally. For the 'girls' to sit where they should be, I was told underwire is necessary.

I have to have the underwire. Without it I don't feel like there is enough support. But occasionally I do wear a soft cup.

I am 38 DD. I only wear underwire because I found softcups to be not nearly supportive enough. I only wear the Curvation brand endorsed by Queen Latifah and found at Wal-Mart. They are comfortable, as well as cute and sexy (Not something you will always find in larger sizes). Try these, they range at about $13-$16 each. If they don't work, you may want to get fitted professionally, as you may be buying too small.

When I was a J cup I loathed underwire bras and would not wear them.
I wore soft cup bras and they were great.

I'm not quite that large...only a 34d, but for my size and stature, that is quite disproportionate.
I dislike underwire and find them uncomfortable. I own 1 style bra, and i absolutely love it. You can find them at Walmart, JcPenny, Sears and yes it's playtex. Sears/JCP also have the same bra in a different brand that is a little cheaper...and it says they have your size! I began wearing this bra some time ago and it made a world of difference. I never had real supportive bras before the age of about 20/21 as nobody ever really helped me to find them and understand the importance. Anyways after wearing this one, I was asked for a good few weeks at work how my new breasts were....

I believe this second one is the same one, the picture makes it hard to tell.
