Meaning a citizen of the United States but not born on US soil.

I know you have to be an natural born citizen of the US. But do you think people would vote to amend the Constitution in order for a non-natural citizen to run for President.

Thats what I'm saying.

Not until the constitution is changed.

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Citizens born off of US soil (even to US parents) are 'naturalized' not natural-born.

Edit:
Actually US law defines 'Natural Born' to include children of US citizens born on foriegn soil and anyone born in a posession or territory of the US (with at least 1 US parent) - so it is possible. But this law has never been tested in the courts.

No.
The US Constitution, Article 2, Section 1 states:"No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States."

It is possible, and no constitutional amendment is required as others have falsely claimed (following the strict wording of your question).

According to the "Child Citizenship Act 2000", a child can be born in France to two american citizens and that child would be considered to be a citizen and could run for president.

I'm actually opposed to this. We need a president who since the day of his birth was raised in the American culture.

Arnold Schn... (can't spell his last name) must be retarded if he thinks that he will be the future Presidentt of the U.S.

I know that there are people who were born in other countries and then they come here as a child (like my mom) and are raised in the American culture, but then you would also forced to include people like Arnold Schn...

I think that this law is fine the way it is. We need Americans to be our President and not somebody who came to America to be a bodybuilder and then make action movies.

No. It is not legal. Why would we want a foreign born President - not a lot of logic there in my eyes. It is a dangerous precedent to set to start changing the constitution and laws to benefit the few.

If they are a natural born citizen, sure, otherwise, no, you must be a natural born citizen to be President. No naturalization for this job.

Only if the constitution is changed to allow it. And it will take two/thirds of the fifty states to approve such change. Difficult.

Only if British Marxist Government will ask you to change the Constitution and you will be dumb enough to obey their request.
