It doesn't make you a nerd or a geek. Besides all the people that say your a nerd or geek are the people who are going to work for you and get payed the minimum wage because they weren't smart. If you look at the world today half the things that are being invented are from Star Wars scientist have created lasers that can burn holes through metal, they are also creating satellites that can shoot missiles from space. It's the nerds and geeks that are make our society what it is today because they believe that the stuff from Star Wars can be invented. I like Star Wars so call me a geek I'm proud of it.

I don't think that anyone is a "nerd" just because they like something. But, if they are truly obsessed about it, and they camp out in lines days in advance for tickets, and dress up in costumes, and buy all the merchandise, etc...then, yes, they are probably a nerd, or geek.
(I liked the first Star Wars trilogy (Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi, but I thought the more recent prequel trilogy was pretty lame, and a major disappointment).

NO! I am a huge fan and I don't have any other nerd-like tendencies. I have a wonderful boyfriend, we are both very attractive, I'm an actress as well, but I don't mind being called a 'star wars nerd.'
I classify the people who like Star Trek, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings ECT as TOTAL NERDS!
But Star Wars is cool!

Star Wars is for everyone... you don't have to be a nerd to like it, nor are you a nerd if you watch it...
people who say otherwise just don't appreciate Star Wars for what it is... Star Wars fans like us know better...

I think this depends on your level of "liking" in star wars. If you dig the movies and watch them every now and then, maybe play some of the video games, or whatever, not so much a nerd, I wouldn't think. However, if you're like my ex who has read every novel, knows everything he can fit into his pea sized brain about every character, still has all of the original action figures and treats it like it's his religion, then, yeah, I'd call you a geek.

Embrace your inner nerd.

Seeing as I'm a self-proclaimed nerd myself, I'm not sure if I'm qualified to judge. It doesn't have to be, as I know several "cool" people who enjoy the movies as well. I will admit readily that there is a bit of a stigma attached, but the movies themselves are not nerdy.
No, I don't think it's strictly for nerds.

my husband is a huge star wars fan. now, myself, I can't understand them and think they are to far fetched. I believe people associate the name nerd w/ fans of the movie because of the people that dress up in costumes when they go to a movie premier or what they call Trekkie's.
