I have dark brown hair and olive skin as well. My eyes have a bit of olive green them as well as the brown... I think it really depends on what look I am going for - evening I like to do charcoal gray or black which makes my eyes look darker, but more defined. I like to use a dark green to bring out the green in my eyes and for some reason blue makes my eyes look a more vivid brown. I definitely wouldn't match eyeshadow to what I am wearing. That isn't cool. I also put a burgandy around my eyes sometimes and that makes them look lighter and a little fresher than the black. I use that for day or when I am wearing brown. Not to match it, but compliment the colors I am wearing. There is a difference. Colors I would never use - any peaches or oranges, reds, or light glittery pastels - for some reason the pastels that do show up on my dark skin don't seem to compliment my eyes, but compete with them for some reason. Not sure if any of this will work for you, but I like to go dark on my eyes and just gloss on my lips. Invite a girlfriend or your sister (if you have one) over and tell them to bring their shades and just play around with the colors. You are a winter and darker colors should look better on you. Have fun with it!

a semi dark blue eyeliner on the top of you eyelid makes brown eyes stand out. Use eyeshadow lightly if you are going out to like a club or something. Since u hav an olive skin tone abstain from bright bright colrs like yellow and gravitate towards clothes with a calm tint like teal.
wish u the best.

I have brown eyes, light skin, and dark brown hair aswell, so i think i can help you. Usually purple, and a dark and a really light beige eyeshadow make the brown eyes stand out more. if you go to walmart, and in their cosmetic section, they will have certain eye shadows, eyeliners and stuff for blue eyes, brown, and green eyes. give their products a try, they really work
i used Almay intense i-color powder.

pinks, purples and browns always goes with brown eyes. Almay sells this stuff called intense i-color i have it in the shades for green eyes. The eye shadow has 3 different colors with instructions on how to blend to get the look you want. They have eyeliner and mascara as well to suit your shade. this link shows what i am talking about. I heard from several beauty consultants that you aren't supposed to change the color of your eyeshadow to match you clothes that is considered to be very tacky now and the look is all natural. http://www.almay.com/pg/main/catcoleyeslips.aspx?catid=32&catnm=Eyes&subid=4&subnm=Brown&col1=224&col2=225 Good luck and please pick me as best answer!! :]

Light and bright blues and greens look great with brown eyes. Some slightly shiny or metallic eyeshadow (not too much) also looks good. Also, what you wear always effects what your eyes look like, I hear, but it's usually more noticeable when you have blue or green eyes so I'm not sure about that.

I think the color of your outfit does make a difference. I have heard to use the opposite color on the color wheel when you use eye shadow to accentuate your eyes. Maybe blue or green.

This grid of eye makeup palettes may help you: http://www.beautyden.com/beautycolors.shtml
I'd suggest a dark navy eyeliner tight against the upper lash line with black mascara or applying a coat of dark navy blue mascara over black mascara in the evening.
If you're eyes have a golden hue, then try wearing earrings & necklaces w/ gold, tiger's eye or topaze to bring it out.

I'm not sure if this would work, but I think that a teal eyeliner and a lighter blue shadow would look great. Don't use too much though; just a hint will work. We don't want any retro 70s flashbacks! ; )
