Lady Minerva had found that relying on others for happiness and contentment was not the way. Lord Bigley, Lord Reilly, and even the swarthy Raoul were unable to truly satisfy her. As comforting as religion is, using that as a crutch to solve her problems was not the answer, either. At last, she determined to control her own fate. What did she know best? She knew wealth and society. She knew intrigue and sexual adventure! She began publication of a weekly gossip magazine. She reported the sordid goings-on at the Dartmouth Gentleman's Association, complete with photographs and interviews with some of the more generously-paid men and women (on the condition their identities remained anonymous, of course). She built a web-site that was accessible only by subscription. She hired marketing people and began selling consumer products, Lady Minerva sexual aids and lingerie. She hired publicity people to be sure that her name appeared in print, and that she was invited to all the A-list events. She wrote a syndicated newspaper column. (Word was the Lady Minerva was quite the writer!) Lady M came to the attention of every eligible and ineligible male in the kingdom. They all wanted to court her. At last, she found all the wealth, fame, and acclaim that a girl could want. There was just one problem. She employed scores of people to help build and maintain her media empire. Unfortunately . . . . . she failed to hire a good tax lawyer.
