According to calculators on the Internet, Nebraska's child support guidelines are much steeper in terms of payment than that of Iowa's. I want to know what to expect when I have to make support payments. Nebraska's payment is nearly $500 more than Iowa's. I don't understand why...

Each state has its own guidelines for determining child support based on how expensive to live there and income of payee. Since mom live in Neb. thats where she will file for support so you will be under Neb.law

Child support is handled through the state the child lives in. The Child services in that state will determine the amount, and ensure that the child support is paid.
