I mean. she's deliberately ruining her movie career, by being an irresponsible joke! If she wants to be taken seriously, she has to clean up her dag-gone act, dump the " bimbo sisters" themselves Paris & Britney, take some more acting lessons, quit drinking and drugging, get some sleep because she looks like and dang zombie! And Maybe she needs to go broke, become a hollywood outcast, and forced to get a real job, and be humiliated a couple of times, maybe she'll have a slice of humble pie and come back down to Earth!

First of all how would her parents justify getting after her when her dad is an addict that was busy boozing and coking it up when she was a kid and her mom used to party with her. They are enablers that can't control themselves let alone their daughter. Her parents are going through a divorce or have just completed one I'm not sure. She's crying for attention. Yes she needs help but while mom & dad are talking to the press about Lindsay what's being done to help the other children. Are they canidates for foster care?
Secondly how many times have we seen child stars not be able to transition to adult stars? It is her career to crash and burn. If she wants to go work at Wal-mart in her future that's her choice. Not all people have the drive and ambition of former addicts like Drew Barrymore.

I think Lindsay will be kicking her own *ss in 20 yrs when she's a over weight, over wrinkled, and only stars in B rated movies. Thats if she doesn't o.d. before then.
But yeah, to answer your question, her parents should be doing something. But the sad truth most celebs parents don't give a rats *ss as long as the money keeps coming in. Their kids have been nothing but a paycheck to them since they got in the buisness. I mean look at Britney Spears?

well like a lot of kids who make lots and lots of money in movies,singing, modeling or just being born into a rich family,many times the parents have issues of their own and need the money so they want to be like a best friend and forget their child needs limitations and punishments and a good example.its not just rich folks who do this,i know plenty of parents who refuse to be parents cause its too hard and they don't want their kid to be mad at them or hate them by telling them no,or its time to go to bed,or no you cannot wear that you look like a hooker,or no you are not hanging out at these clubs and drinking or doing drugs or acting like a cheap hussy!so what if they get mad its better than winding up dead like Anna Nicole Smith cause people were using her!but she is 21 now so she needs to accept blame for her problems and get clean-- blaming her parents will not work it is her problem and she is doing this she knows better!time in jail is deserved 2 duis and cocaine possession? yes jail is better than a coffin.i hope she gets clean and sober before it is too late.
