I am starting a Masters of Taxation program in September. I am not a fan of tax, but, a close relative of mine is agreeing to pay for 100% of the tuition. It's a good opportunity. It will open lots of doors.

Unfortunately, I don't like the subject. I find it boring & extremely difficult. I know because I studied it in undergrad.

But, I understand the importance of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The program is a year and a half, and I have to maintain a "B" average...which will be very difficult. I already accepted the offer. I'm not sure what to do. Should I go in it, and suffer for a year and a half, or, not go into it after all?

All suggestions, comments are welcome. Thanks

You wont excel at something you dont like and if you d, you willbe miserable. Dont permit your relative control such an important part of your life. If he was a charitable person e would pay tuition for you in a course YOU like. By the way, you can get way more benefits and a lifelong career by letting your Uncle sam" pay your tuition. Why go into something you are going to find boring & difficult? Sorry, that just doesn't make any sense to me. Even if someone is going to pay for it. In my opinion, I would rather do something I enjoy for the rest of my life.

Going for Master's, they play hard ball, lots of difficult work. If you aren't into the subject you probably won't make that B.

If you're not intrested, don't go in. You're most likely to find yourself dropping out in the long run. I suggest you ask the in the education section rather the P&S next time.
