Then you would be plagued by flies and other insects that the wasps eat.
Yes, wasps are nasty and I hate them too. I have been stung a few times so I am not allergic, but I have known two people who got stung and almost dropped dead from it. A wasp sting doesn't just hurt it effects the nervous system and makes me as nervous as a cricket in a room full of cats. The venom in a wasp sting is the same as that found in a cobra, but in a much smaller quantity.
We have found that when we lose a species or introduce a species to an environment we get major problems. I think I hate flies more than wasps. Wasps scare the sh_t out of me, but flies really make me mad; they are so determined to get in the way.
Australia has a huge rabbit problem because of the rabbit. If they knew the name of the person that released the first mating pair into the wild they would turn them into a villain almost as bad as Judas is to Christians. They can't get rid of the rabbits and they have no animals that will eat the darn things. So they have a plague that hits their crops.
The loss of a species like the Wasp would create a huge increase in the population of beetles and flies that would attack our crops, get into our houses, and try to eat our food. A wasp may try to drive us off and sting us, but they don't compete with humans for food. A lot of their prey does.

All part of the world of nature I'm afraid. What is any creature 'for'?
Removing any species can have massive unforeseen effects on the natural balance.
Anyway, there's too many of them. They'd go sting-crazy. Best not to annoy them.
Apparently if you put a jam sandwich a fair distance from a picnic or where your kids are playing, they'll just congregate on this. Although, thinking about it, it might attract even more of them - they might think it's a free party. Hmmm.

A wasp sting can be very painful, but wasps are nowhere near as dangerous as mosquitoes. They spread a variety of diseases.
If any species should be wiped out, it is the mosquito.

there no need to fear them as long as you are not allergic to them Ive been stung it hurts a Little but Ive stubbed my big to and little toe more times than i could count just walking in my own house and its 5 times more pain full than a wasp sting so what iam getting at is you will stub you toe way more times than you getting stung i can only remember getting bit in my hole 38 years of life 3 times i will take a sting from a wasp any day than walking straight into a coffee table at fast pace barefooted especially the little toe so go out and enjoy life trust me if you get stung and your not allergic you wont die but the wasp will and then you will see that getting stung was not that bad and that its all in your head and your making way to big of a deal over this most likely you wont get stung as long as you don't provoke them

I'm exactly the same - I can't go out and relax while I know wasps are around!!! It sounds really sad. I wish there was a way. I don't think they have any purpose.
