They're totally normal -if it makes you feel better, get a tote that you can keep your books and stuff in as well as purse needs (keep pads/tampons in a hidden pocket of the tote) that way you're not carrying around two bags - a backpack and a purse.) I assure you, everyone should carry around a purse/tote - and most girls do. Especially for the reason your mom said.

You don't have to cart a purse around if you don't want to! I got along fine without my cosmetics two inches from me at all times last year. (Actually, I don't use makeup at all.) I never know how to carry a purse, because it always drops or falls off my shoulder. They collect sooo many germs-just think of where you are setting it down!-and you don't really need one in the first place! Just make sure you know when you are gonna start, and carry one in your pocket or backpack a week before it should

You really don't need to carry a purse around especially when you're only 13. Keep your pads/tampons in your backpack or in your locker. There is no reason for you to have your purse with you. Just more chance of something getting stolen or broken.

I started carrying a purse regularly in 6th grade, but I've seen little kids carrying around a purse, so just pick out a cute one.

In high school most people only carry a purse and binder thats what i do. cause with a backpack and a purse it will look wierd and people will know why your carrying one. And if u have pads in your backpack its alot easier to go to the restroom with just yourn purse cause if u go with a backpack then people will suspect your on ur period so if u don't mind people knowing then by all means carry a backpack. Its just alot easier to carry a purse!

If you're not comfortable carrying one, then don't. Purses are my guilty pleasure and many people where I live spend money on designer purses constantly (I'm going into 10th grade). You shouldn't feel embarassed to carry one, and I'm very surprised that none of your friends do. Most tomboys don't carry one, they carry those little bags with the ropes on them and put them on their backs.

you don't need a purse to carry that stuff. I did not start to carry a purse until I started to drive. I usually carried any sort of "supplies" for that time of the month in a small LeSport sac bag in my backback or left it in my locker at all times in case I needed it.
i hate carrying purses to this day. I am 32 now and find them to be a nuisance. But then I don't carry a lot of make-up etc. with me.
If you don't want to carry one don't. Find some other sort of small bag for holding that stuff. If you have your period at regular intervals, you know when it is time.

It is not weird at all!!
All the girls that I know that go to my school carry around purses.
Why are you embarrassed?
Purses are cute and fun!
Yes, I would recommend carrying one(especially for that time of the month)
But you don't have to carry one everyday.
