Once you've accomplished your purpose here, you'll be wisked away into eternity. What's the hurry?
Sometimes what we want in life isn't always what's best for us, or the timing may not be right.

I would have to say medical reasons, I would have already graduated from UCF if I did not have have to take so many different semesters off just to do surgeries. About being married I would have to say I just have not met the man I am suppose to spend the rest of my life with, I could say I met him now but I think that he is so much more committed to his mother than me and will not leave her house to come and make one of our own. Another reason for everything else would definately be $$$$$$$$$. It is essential to pay bills and get the things in life that I need to live a good and easy free life and not working paycheck to paycheck. It would be nice not to worry so much about me or him and what could happen in the future.

I don't think that it is. Life is constantly changing, & it's really not a matter of what I "want," but the things in which I'm involved & fulfilled, which--as time goes--don't take "long" at all. One may have a (valid) long range goal that requires time to accomplish, yet this needs to be accepted, not thought of as "SO" long. At the same time, perhaps one needs to examine why they feel it's taking "so long." Adversities & obstacles may help us to question the wisdom of the thing we want. & of course, it can simply be due the impatience of someone's nature!

Easy. It is either contradictive desires, contradictive beliefs, or resistance caused by negative emotions, thoughts, sensations, or beliefs. Sometimes it is all of the above.
Examples: A person wants perfect health, wants to smoke cigarettes, and believes that cigarette smoking causes cancer or is afraid that his cigarette smoking may cause cancer. Another negative emotion which can come into play is that the person actually doubts that the Universe can deliver perfect health because parents have taught that there is a disease which runs in the family and the belief is programmed in. Know Thyself.

It is because people don't plan properly... if my goal was to retire at 29 years old with $500,000.00 in my checking account... i would have to create a game plan to make that happen... a challenge with most people is that they do the same things over and over and expect different results... if i had the above goals financially the military won't cut it alone... same goes for other areas of life... also i think people take too much advice from people that have no clue what they are talking about... in my opinion that makes them stupid... let me explain... if i was having my appendix taken out would i take medical advice from a person with no medical experience or would i go see a doctor?.. people too often take the advice of people that have no experience in what they want to accomplish... so who is more stupid.. the person that is ignorant of the facts or the person that listens to them... people just need to understand who to listen too... wow.. sry for the long answer.. learn from people that HAVE what you want in life..

We’re addicted to the anticipation. The realization will take that away from us so we were a little scared of this unknown success, besides it likely will not make us happy for long.

who told you that? :)
i am where i wish to be in many ways. satisfied emotionally, socially, spiritually. who couldn't use a bit more of this or a bit less of that?
is contenment the absence of striving? or the realization that it's good to be appreciative of the things you have?
perhaps the things we desire seem to take a long time because the watched pot never boils. quit waiting, start living, take action, and see where you wind up!

Because, for a lot of us, what we want is constantly changing. Also, once we get what we want...something else will present itself that we just have to have.
