Girl, I'm right there with you. I'm 39 weeks and 5 days!!! I've been doing squats for a while now and when I went to the doctors this morning she told me that I'm 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced, which is a good start. Just walk as much as possible and do some squatting. I'm just so tired of being pregnant and ready to have this baby so I really feel your pain. Good luck!!!

They used to say caster/castor oil. Not sure of the spelling. Also sex definately. It causes the uterus to contract. Contractions are good. It gets the cervix dialated and ready for delivery and walking. Try walking then sex and then castor oil. The C-oil is a laxative so use it last or else. Or at least have a tread mill. For heavens sake don't get half way around the block and then the urge. LOL

Finally: I used to work for an OB doctor and I can tell you at your next visit for god's sake go in and tell him of your symptoms of back pain and can't sleep. Don't fix yourself up. Look tired even if your not and CRY!!! He will feel sorry for you and at least set you up for an induction. That means they will induce labor. I have had three and the last two I Creid if that tells you anything and both were born before the due date. Hey did I mention CRY!!! Just in case I didn't, you may want to CRY!!!

Good Luck.

I was one week over due with my daughter and was pretty much willing to try anything, so I had sex and I SWEAR that literally within 10 minutes of finishing my water broke!! I absolutely could not believe it!! So if you can get yourself in the mood, I say go for it!! I have also heard of eating Hot & Sour soup from the chinese place, but I cannot swear by that. Otherwise, try to enjoy the last days of pregnancy - I know that I really missed being pregnant once I had actually given birth. Remember that eventually, the baby WILL come out!! Good luck!

My Ob told me that the best thing was sex...since I was feeling like a big cow and wasn't in the mood for sex she said the second best thing was to walk and to be relaxed. I talked to hubby and we went to the mall to walk a whole day while doing a shopping spree for us and baby....it was fun, you know how much we (women) like to shop - I was buying like little things not expensive items- and had a blast! I went into labor that night. Walking is my advice...it won't be long anyway, congratulations!!

Gently sit or bounce on a large stability ball - 65cm or 75cm. This helps your back and helps move the baby down in the right direction.

Also, do lots of walking and have lots of sex!

Walk. And hope.

You can't induce labor, babies come when they're good and ready.
