How can they go back to their low income countries and try to make it better if not only is it hard to fight off the progressed corruption but the 'hidden' hand of superior countries that want these low income countries to remain low income countries

Super power countries like the US DO NOT WANT MEXICO TO BETTER ITSELF along with other poor countries.

You think that Mexico doesn't want to better itself!? IT can't.

Not unless THE US GOES DOWN..and that will never happen!!!

THAT IS WHY ILLEGALS MIGRATE AND MANY POLITICIANS TRY TO DEAL WITH THIS WITH REFORM..BECAUSE THEY KNOW THINGS WE DONT.

what do you think?

im just saying that this country KNOWS WAT IT IS DOING.. AND IT PUTS ON A FACADE OF HELPING OTHERS BUT JUST NOT TOO MUCH HELP...SO TO REMAIN ON TOP~!

I think it would take a lot for Mexican people to over-take their government. Yes indeed. But once done, they could improve their own country. My point is, stop trying to come here and change our way of life and sponging off of us. Just go home and do whatever you will.
Personally, I'd love to see Mexico change for the better. I would love to be able to visit for awhile and experience the culture without fear of being tossed into a Mexican prison or being raped.

How to answer your very poorly written question... hmmm. Lets see! America should not be responsible for Mexico or any other county for that fact. Our county is filled with worry about border jumpers. There are thousands if not millions of hard working tax paying Americans that don't have health care and live pay check to pay check, no different then anyone in Mexico. Helping Mexico, just where I want my hard earn money to be dumb to. I think not!! Just like we are taking tax payers money to build safe houses for day labors... o yeah we can have a safe place for these people to get off the book jobs. I mean what is world coming too? Isn't enough that we are dumbing billions on Iraq? And these illegals are working off the books taking money from Americans and building themselves up to go back to Mexico. If they want to the perks of Americans, come into the county legally, learn English and pay taxes.

I don't mind anyone coming to this country as long as they do it LEGALLY! I just don't want people coming up here and leaching off of my tax dollars and expecting me to foot the bill for them to have 10 kids just because they can. If you want to come here legally and do it the right way and work and pay taxes just like my family has too that is fine. Mexico has been corrupt for a long time and it isn't going to change anytime soon.

Nah, and here's why.

When I've used statements like "go back and help your own country", I mean it in the way that they need to change their countries from within. Yes the governments are corrupt where they live, and it will take a massive uprising to correct it.

I don't believe it's true that the US wants Mexico to fail. It isn't in any ones best interest to have a country do poorly, especially a border nation.

They are just going to have to do the same things we are trying to do to get back to super power status. This country was not started to help or hurt Mexico or any other country in the world!

Oh well that isn't our problem. We have enough problems in our country without having to worry about Mexico bringing it's problems. So yeah just stay there unless you want to come legally.

I am one of those people. It is possible to say the US doesn't want Mexico to prosper. If this is the case then we suck worse than we know. If this is the case then maybe we should join in their struggle. Whatever they should make the effort to better their country and themselves.

Whenever any 3rd world nation tries to improve itself (China, India, etc.), it meets with American resentment and leads to fear of the US losing its "superpower status."

Their idea of "improvement":

"Wanna set up sweatshops for manufacturing cheap goods to sell in US? No prob. You want worker protections and better labor standards that would lead to higher costs for US multinationals? No can do."

Because Americans have always been extremely fond of simple solutions for complex problems.
