I am moving out of California to Iowa. I was married in California and have been for 13 years. I have a child and the father agrees I can take her with me. Can I file for legal seperation in Iowa?

You have to be a resident of the state you are filing in for at least 60 days.

Yes, the plaintiff is supposed to file from whatever county in which they reside.
