For those of whom are on the monthly 28 day birth control pills, you can start a new pack immediately to avoid getting your period. The last couple of times I have attempted this, it didn't work. I am wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else?

I did start the new pack immediately. Took the last pill of the old pack Saturday started the new pack Sunday. I have also had it start while still finishing a pack before too. So I don't know.

To avoid your period, you don't start a new pack immediately upon finishing one. You skip the last 7 days of pills and start a new pack after the 21st day.

I did this to avoid AF on my wedding day. It did work for me but you have to start the new pack immediately( during when your period week would be)

As you found out it does not work all the time. You should talk to your doctor if you want to skip your period for a certain week and see what they can do for you.

It happened to me too.

All birth control ever did was make my period worse.

Honestly, my GYN told me not to do it, she said that it may seem like a great idea, but can mess with you in the future. I can't remember what she was talking about exactly because I was young, but I remember her saying that it can cause harm to you in the future, so you shouldn't do it.
