i want a 55 gallon tank but not expensive. and the filters and lights and heaters are all expensive too, arnt they?

You can actually get a complete aqarium kit, they have already included the tank itself, the hood with the lights, the filter as well as the heater
Walmart is the cheapes, petsmart, petco
you can also try to buy used ones at craigslist or ebay, but check the prices at the stores first that you don't pay to much for a used one

petland discounts have a 55 gallon tank and stand for 99 usd.

that is reasonable.

i did spend over 200 extra on a fuval canister 405, and a cover + light for the 55.


overall it came to 310 with taxes.

Try Walmart. You can get a 55 gal with the filters, lightning, an heater. It even comes with sample of chlorine remover.

PETSMART!!!...they have awesome deals. They have a 29 gallon tank with everything you need except water and fish for $100. its awesome deal. im pretty sure a 55 gallon with everything was $155 im not 100 percent sure. good luck.

The best place to check would be craigslist.com

yes it can get pretty expensive but there are always disount pet places

checking on places like craigslist and such would be the best places to go first

Check thrift stores. Local papers and garage sales. If you get a used one, make sure you clean it with special cleaner from the pet store to make sure your fish don't catch "reactivated" diseases from the old tank.

Have you thought about going to Petsmart. Ebay, Craigslist, Amazon, other words all auction sites.

Get a tropical kit it has everything but the decoration and you can purchase them slowly while your tank cycles.

you can also check craigslist for you area or freecycle. both are really good for getting fish tanks and accessories.
