An Old Texas Saying Claims You Arent A Real Texan Untill You Sleep With A Black Person Whats The Significance Of This Statement?
Is It A Racial Slur?
Also Even If You Are Black You Still Have To Sleep With Another Black Person To Be Considered A True Texan....

I believe this statement hearkens back to the time when anyone in Texas who's skin was darker than a brown paper bag, was considered a black person. So, anyone, that includes Indians, Mexicans, and mixed-blood people, who were not lily-white were considered black.

Now down to the nitty-gritty; a real Texan (a real man) had to be prolific with the ladies. So any man that bedded someone other than his wife was considered to have slept with a black person.

I'm sure it is all as clear as mud now. But it is a racial slur to all people of color, especially women of color.

I just spoke to a Texan guy about this who didn't have a clue where it came from. He just said it was something you did so you could always say you were a real Texan. Also he said that blacks aren't real Texans anyway.
I realize this doesn't shed a lot of light on your question, but it does come from someone who's white, Texan, and been there and done that.

Somebody has screwed up an old Texas saying about pushing Cows.
"You ain't a Texas drover until you slept with a rattlesnake."

Bigots' and trolls' only talent is screwing up....cause that's the only kind of screwing they ever get.
